For most people, the experience of cancer is tough. They find themselves facing unpleasant treatments, disruptions to their way of life and the challenges of learning to live with uncertainty.
Most initially turn to their family and friends for support. But there’s another kind of support that many find particularly rewarding the support offered by another who has been through the same experience.
Research indicates the great healing benefits of peer support groups in assisting people through life crises. They can help you find inner and new resources, better ways of coping, and friends with whom to share the experience. This group is only open to people with cancer. A qualified and experienced facilitator conducts the group once a week. Confidentiality is key to all the services we do at the Resource and Wellness Centre.
A Support group(mixed) for both men & ladies and their spouses meet on the last Monday of every month at 8.30 pm.
A Support group for Prostate Cancer patients and survivors meet every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 2pm.
A Women’s Cancer Support group, conducted in Bahasa Malaysia, meets once a month.
