Aware of the increasing incidence of breast cancer amongst younger Malaysian women, the Society established the first Mammography Centre in the country and Southeast Asia region in 1985. The Centre is located in the Society's building - Bangunan Cegah Barah, at Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, Kuala Lumpur, nearHospital Kuala Lumpur.
Services available here include mammography x-ray, PAP smear test, ultrasound, teaching of Breast Self Examination, Breast Prosthesis fitting for patients who have undergone mastectomy. This centre is managed by a team of professional and highly skillful women who are trained to provide efficient and quality service. The team also provides counselling and supportive services, and treats each patient with utmost confidentiality and care.
Women of age between 40 to 49 are recommended for a mammography x-ray every one to two years and once every year for those age 50 and above.
This centre is open from Monday to Friday, from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. An appointment is recommended to avoid delays.
